Developed by an award-winning company, the Women Rainmakers Program is specifically designed to equip female law firm partners at Am Law 100 and Am Law 200 firms with concrete strategies, perspectives, tools, and skills as well as the accountability they need to become effective business developers and leaders to continuously and successfully advance their legal careers.

Now more than ever, law firm leaders understand that the key to sustainable growth depends not only on the quality of their lawyers’ legal talent, but also on their lawyers’ abilities to lead and generate business. And while lawyers are trained to excel at lawyering, many typically receive no formal training (in law school or private practice) to succeed in leadership or business development. The issue is even more apparent for women lawyers who face their own additional challenges.

In 2007, an ABA study identified that new female partners reported “obstacles to business development because they lack training, mentoring, and business development resources.”  Ten years later, during the 2017 Summit of the ABA Presidential Initiative on Achieving Long-Term Careers for Women in Law, launched by the ABA’s Past President Hillarie Bass, one of the key solutions to retaining women lawyers identified by the participants was the need for women lawyers to “be given early and consistent business development training and coaching.”  The Women Rainmakers program does just that!
